Nice temperatures, Semana Santa x Manrique's house

Life in LanzarotePosted by mona lanjri Thu, April 05, 2018 18:13:33
After the wintertime which was colder than usual (ok ok I know it is still very good compared to Belgium and I cannot complain...but...) the nice sun is totally back... The wall and me ;-) are so very happy...

Last week was a very important one on the island, it was 'Semana Santa'. Churches were open to visit and pray and everywhere on the island you could find some special places dedicated to the Christ and Mary. A lot of Spanish people take a holiday to celebrate Semana Santa. People over here still have a lot of Christian values, they often respond with 'let God guide you' or 'only God knows'. Christian or not, I think it's wonderful to maintain some nice values such as kindness, Love, helping others. I already told you in the past that people are very kind over here, they really are... they don't give you any single second the feeling you are not welcome. When we were 'house searching' an old lady told me 'that God may guide you to the best house, to your house'. We were very lucky to find one. For sure the Universe helped us, because when we had an option on the apartment x then it was cancelled by the owner for some reasons having nothing to do with us. So we continued visiting lots of other houses and apartments. Whether it was too expensive, whether the situation was bad, whether there was a lot of work to do, there was something all the time. Later on, we got involved with some nice other properties which were not our first choice and then...a miracle happened...the owner of the apartment we loved so much resolved his problems and accepted selling it to us....

As they say here : "Todos los días a Dios le pido"

We visited the house of the island's most famous artist Cesar Manrique, it was wonderful, I completely fell in love with it, but it's not for sale ;-) and even if it was, I would never ever have the money to buy it...

Here's the artist in good company ;-)

Here is the house ;-)

Do you like it ? I doooooo....

And last but not least....to cruise around the island...we bought a second hand friend....
More cruising news later ;-)
